I am excited to move beyond traditional conference talks, blog essays, and published works, and into a theory-driven discussion-based lecture on fire-adapted community change. I have been working steadily on community change based on risk since 2018. I am excited to share some of the knowledge I have acquired during that period, from philosophy to biology. I am looking forward to engaging with an online audience as I walk through transitional and present optimizing change while bringing together different narratives and concepts. Join me to explore fresh perspectives and exclusive insights that will deepen understanding of fire-adapted community change.
In this engaging theoretical discussion-based lecture, Gregory, a former Hotshot with fuels experience, draws on years of research to explore two modes of community change: transitions and refining the present. Attendees will be introduced to each mode's unique change pathways, dynamics, and the concepts that shape them.
Through insightful narratives and open dialogue, attendees will gain language and knowledge to understand better the change they hope to make, or whether a different approach would be more effective. This is not a talk on physical fire adaptation, such as defensible space and home hardening, but a discussion on processes of change to accomplish fire-adapted communities.
